Our School Choir consists of every child in Years 3 through to Year 6 and meets every Monday afternoon. The Choir is conducted by Mrs Butler and performs at many school events including outdoor carols and presentation days. In 2016 and again in 2018 our School Choir were the winners at Newcastle Choirfest in the Primary Unison section.
Choir is a compulsory element of the curriculum at CSPS as it is part of the Creative Arts Syllabus. Choir also has many other benefits including some wonderul Literacy elements as students are contunually reading and memorising lyrics and articulating and using new words and phrases. The health and wellbeing elements of singing are also highly beneficial according to much research on the topic.
